Fashion- Maxi Dresses (dress them up or down)

Maxi dresses are super in this season, and are great for summer if they are lightweight and cute. They can be both dressed up or down by just adding simple accessories. In today's fashion post, I chose 3 cute maxi dresses (one of which I own), and show a few accessories that you can use to dress up/down your look. This will allow you to take the trendy maxi dress, and transform it from day to night by just switching something as simple as a necklace or pair of earrings. Enjoy! Xoxo- Paris

Maxi Dress: Haute Hippie Ruffle Gown is truly a statement on its own. The bright orange ties in the neon trend, and the see-through silk also is very in.
Daytime Look: San Diego Hat Co. Women's Raffia Cowboy Hat w/ Macramae is a beautiful cowboy hat that will make your look casual. An added bonus: it will also protect your face from the sun! In the picture you will notice that the sides of the hat are quite perked up, but my hat has more relaxed sides. This gives more of a sunhat look, without straying too far from its western side. My beach fashion post explains this hat in depth for more info.

Nighttime Look: Sleek High Bun, Red Lips, and Anya Hindmarch Glittery, Black Valorie Clutch This dress is very flowy because of the lightweight layers of silk throughout the dress. In order to make this look extremely cutting edge, we will need some beauty tricks. I suggest a severe, matte, red lip, and a super high, sleek bun. Then wear this black, glittery clutch. It is a simple shape, but a bold piece to go with the edgy lips and hair.

Maxi Dress: Flowers By Zoe Maxi Dress in Aztec Print has a youthful pattern, but when you put it on, the silhouette is timeless. The simple dress shape lets the eye-catching pattern stand out, and the ruffle drape at the top gives the dress interest.
Daytime Look: Piled Dyanne Belle bracelets and Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC Clutch in almond These two items paired together will give a boho chic vibe, yet is still a polished look because of the quality of these designers'  products. I chose these polished accessories because, while I want to compliment the tribal pattern of the maxi dress, I don't want to completely commit to the tribal vibe. This keeps the look from getting tacky, but also works with the dress' pattern, rather than fighting against it.
Nighttime Look: Satya's Stay Connected Gold Hoops, and Sarah Summer's beige, mini wedges are a great combo for a casual dinner or cocktail party. The hammered gold brings sparkle to the earrings, and the simple wedges add a bit of height. (The maxi dress really adds height, so adding tiny wedges will add even more length to the legs!) Also, heels, wedges, and even mini wedges like these are suitable for evening occasions.
Maxi Dress (the one I own): Betsey Johnson Pink, Silk, Rose Detail Maxi Dress is easy to wear from day into night without even adding/changing accessories. I find this because, any maxi dress can be worn out all day for a more trendy look, but because this is silk, it transfers well into night where one would go to fancy dinners or parties. I love how it has synching at the top with a ruffle drape, and then has a very flowy skirt.
Daytime Look: Layered Rings are really an edgy look that can actually draw a lot of attention. At first I thought that since rings are pretty small, no one would notice them, but when layered they look really cool. They also tone back the fanciness of the dress to make it a bit more casual (remember, it is still an everyday dress, even without this accessory addition).
Nighttime Look: Betsey Johnson Teal/Silver Cropped Sweater  is super soft, and the color ties in the green of the flower stems on the dress. The importance of the sweater is that even on summer nights, there is sometimes a little chill. This super soft, but not overbearingly hot, cropped sweater goes perfectly with the dress. I also adore the heart shaped gems as buttons, and that it says, "Love," on the back!
(The color in the picture does seem dead, but in person it appears to be similar to, if not more vibrant than, the background surrounding the pictures of the sweater.)
